چکیده

Corresponding colors data for complex images were obtained using an adjustment method. Experiments were carried out for printed images viewed at a high luminance in a light surround under CIE illuminant D50 simulators that were matched by CRT-displayed images using both CIE illuminant D65 and D50 white points at a lower luminance level in a dark surround. The results show expected chromatic adaptation effects, but indicate little or no surround and luminance level effects. The data were then used to evaluate 2 various color appearance models and chromatic adaptation transforms. It was shown that a simple linear transformation of tristimulus values between viewing conditions provided a good description of the data. The recently proposed CIECAM97s model performed among the best models when it was adjusted to account for the lack of a surround effect in these data.

The iCAM Framework for Image Appearance, Image Differences, and Image Quality

Traditional color appearance modeling has recently matured to the point that available, internationally-recommended models such as CIECAM02 are capable of making a wide range of predictions to within the observer variability in color matching and color scaling of stimuli in somewhat simplified viewing conditions. It is proposed that the next significant advances in the field of color appearance...

Prediction of color reproduction for skin color under different illuminants based on the color appearance models

In this paper, we study a color reproduction method to match the appearance of skin color images on CRT with a hardcopy under various viewing illuminants. Three color appearance models, von Kries, Fairchild and CIELAB, were applied to predict color reproduction on CRT display. Optimum color appearance model to predict color reproduction was estimated by psychophysical experiments based on the m...

Color Correction for Tone Reproduction

High dynamic range images require tone reproduction to match the range of values to the capabilities of the display. For computational reasons as well as absence of fully calibrated imagery, rudimentary color reproduction is often added as a postprocessing step rather than integrated into the tone reproduction algorithm. However, in the general case this currently requires manual parameter tuni...

Tone Reproduction and Color Appearance Modeling: Two Sides of the Same Coin?

Color appearance models and tone reproduction algorithms are currently solving different problems. These classes of algorithms are also developed and used in different communities. However, they show remarkable functional similarities. Perhaps there is reason to think that they could in fact be one and the same thing. The advantages would be that we could achieve dynamic range reduction while t...

Color Reproduction Model for Varying Illumination Conditions

We investigated the effect of viewing conditions on human visual perception of colorfulness and constructed a mathematical model for colorfulness by fitting regression curves to LUTCHI color appearance data. This model enables the simple and effective prediction of the relative appearance attribute of colorfulness as a function of brightness and saturation, taking into account a range of viewin...
